"I got the idea for making a series of paper sandwiches from watching Peter using the heat-sealing plastic wrapping machine at Edwards DunlopPaper. In the warehouse they cut paper all day long, and to secure these stacks of papers in pristine condition they are wrapped in heat-sealed plastic packaging. The simple paper stacks become sandwiches when they are wrapped in the plastic. The green Chromatico paper was selected for the lettuce. It was cut and wet to allow it to distort …giving a wrinkled lettuce like appearance…sort of!"
Sandwich Series II
Sandwich Series III I had been thinking of the title of the exhibition Paper as Object... and got to thinking of ways paper could look like a particular object, but not be that object.
