| This piece explores an aspect of my family history. I wonder about the lives of countless nameless women whose lives were not recorded. Some years ago while I was trying to do some family history, I came upon my paternal great grand mothers family tree. The women were all listed as "f" denoting female. All female babies were listed as "f", as all women who married into the family. All the males had their full names, birth and death dates and other interesting information recorded. I knew most family trees had followed a patriarchal lineage, but that was ridiculous and offensive. I had been exploring these transparent and anonymous women and the total lack of any written or oral history regarding them.
