Symphony Orchestra Players VII by Helen Sanderson
DescriptionSymphony Orchestra Players VII is another etching in the series of ten etchings relating to the Queensland Symphony Orchestra Players. These works were all begun during a performance at the Concert Hall of the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, at Southbank, Brisbane. The images were worked directly onto prepared etching plates during the performance, and later worked on in the studio. The reason for this is I hoped to spontaneously capture the immediacy of the spectacle of an orchestral concert by working directly en situ. Of course after the initial image is recorded, the less than spontaneous process of etching the plates in acid and printing various states and proofs to work up the images into the final preferred image takes much time and consideration. DimensionsWidth: 13cm Height: 16.5cm Framed: No ExhibitedThis work was included in many exhibitions. Other InformationThis etching is featured in the artist's book QSO Players. It contains ten etchings of players from the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. This book has been editioned to three, and is for sale.
