Old Vines at the Corner Patch by Helen Sanderson
DescriptionOld Vines at the Corner Patch is an acrylic and oil painting which is part of the Farm Series. All the various areas under cultivation on the Ballandean farm of R. Smith & Sons had names... the above was always known as the corner patch. It was probably not only the most productive patch of grapes on the farm, but in the whole district. As a small girl I remember having a little bed made for me in the shade under the vines so I could sleep while my parents picked the grapes. These vines were not the oldest on the farm, some grapes on the older parts of the farm were over one hundred years old.
