Last Memories of the Top Place by Helen Sanderson
DescriptionLast Memories of the Top Place is a large work on reconstructed canvas incorporating gesso, oil paint, bitumen and shellac. This work is from the Farm Series. I spent a considerable amount of time learning the family history associated with the family farm, spending countless hours with my father asking questions. He had a wonderful memory and love of history. One such question that prompted the above work was how do you start to build a farm. All aspects were well considered, regarding matching soil type to what was most suitable to grow there, to drainage, contour of the land etc. The above image relates to the aerial view of top place (name given to the separate mixed farm in the hills above Ballandean). This large work hangs free with no structural support. DimensionsWidth: 226cm Height: 189cm Framed: No Information RequestPlease contact the Artist for more information, or purchase details. |
