In Your Dreams 2006-2009Helen has curated a new international exchange exhibition In Your Dreams with artists from Canada and Germany. The project was completed during 2005, with the opening exhibitions to be in Canada in 2006, Germany in 2007, and touring to Australia in 2008 - 2009. She is participating as one of the Australian artists. BOOK WORKS - March 26 to April 3 2004An exhibition of Queensland artists’ books at Craft Queensland Gallery. Helen Sanderson has been invited to be the inaugural independent curator in a new program initiated by Craft Queensland, to bring a fresh look at artists' books that are being made in Queensland at this time. The exhibition will open at the Craft Queensland gallery, at 381 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley, on Friday 26th March and close on 3rd April 2004. . For more information phone 3215 0800. The opening will be held at 6pm Friday 26th March. There have been 14 artists selected from around Queensland for this show. Some of their work is shown here. Lost and Found - June 2002 to April 2004Lost and Found is an international exchange Art Exhibition jointly curated by Sharon Smith of Hong Kong, and Helen Sanderson. Lost and Found opened in Hong Kong on June 3 2002, and exhibited in Brisbane, Australia in 2002, before touring regional Queensland until early 2004. Kraft + paper opened at Gallery 482, 482 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane on Friday 23rd August 2002. Gallery director Joe Airo-Farulla invited Helen to curate this paper exhibition. The artists invited to participate were: Christine Ballinger, Jac Bennink, Penny Carey-Wells, Inga Hunter, Catherine K, Wendy McGrath, Helen Mueller, Adele Outteridge, Diane Perndt and Helen Sanderson. All the artists use paper in their arts practice.
The works include hand made papers, art papers and commercial papers, printed and collaged papers, dyed and painted papers, spun and woven air mail newspapers and waxed transparent papers. These artists come from the eastern seaboard of Australia, from Hobart to Noosa. They are experienced exhibiting artists, and welcomed the opportunity to exhibit together in a commercial gallery in Brisbane. The exhibition has received much praise and should afford the artists new opportunities for the future. |
