I am Helen Sanderson, an Australian artist and independent curator. I am interested in documenting, recording and story telling. I use painting, drawing and artist's books often in conjunction with each other within my arts practice. Landscape often threads its way into my work. I sometimes incorporate collage and printmaking into my work. I enjoy the diversity of my work. Each new body of work grows and develops from the previous one. I try to draw each day, having completed several drawing a day projects. These drawings often inform my work. The drawings are often vignettes from what I see around me on any given day, but they also include ideas and developments as they come to mind. Artist's books have become an increasingly important aspect of my work. They support each body of work I create. Contact Helen if you would like her to teach the Layering the Landscape workshop in your venue. Helen has taught this workshop at Fibre Forum conference in Brisbane, artists groups in Buderim, and at Rockhampton, Noosa and Warwick for the Regional Art Galleries in those cities. I have curated many exhibitions now, but my involvement in the two international exhibitions : Lost and Found and In Your Dreams are my biggest achievements. Lost and Found was a small show with 4 artists from Brisbane and 4 artists from Hong Kong that I co-curated. I then went on to organise In Your Dreams which has 10 artists from Australia, 10 artists from Canada and 10 artists from Germany. It has been shown in two venues in Canada in 2006, two venues in Germany in 2007 and between 2008 - 2010 it will show at eight Australian venues. These shows have been much enjoyed by a wide audience. Come in, and meet the Artist, or
